About FuNi

What we do

FuNi is an automation tool built specifically for users of the Bitfinex exchange's margin funding (lending) market. Powered by the APEX III intelligent prediction engine, it helps lenders analyze the market, place orders automatically, and receive real-time alerts — so funding no longer requires watching the screen by hand.

How it started

FuNi was built by a solo developer who lent on Bitfinex for years. Lending looks simple, but reliably capturing rates close to the market peak across different market conditions takes high-frequency judgment and constant order adjustments — exactly the kind of work humans are worst at.

Over years of manual lending, the author accumulated plenty of hard-won lessons: pricing too low and missing the rate spikes, pricing too high and not getting filled, choosing the wrong term and getting locked into a low-rate band. Every mistake was a real, cash loss.

FuNi turns that experience into a systematic, automated strategy, so every lender can enjoy the benefits of an "experienced automated assistant."

Our principles

  • We never custody funds: FuNi only places orders on your behalf through the Bitfinex API. Your funds always stay inside your own exchange account.
  • Transparent performance: All historical backtest results are publicly verifiable, and we clearly state that "past performance does not represent future results."
  • Honest communication: We don't make marketing claims like "guaranteed XX% every month" or "zero risk." Lending carries risk — please assess your own tolerance carefully.
  • Continuous iteration: Markets change, and the system evolves with them. We update the APEX engine regularly and publish a public changelog.

What is APEX III

APEX III is FuNi's core intelligent prediction engine, upgraded from APEX II on April 19, 2026. It analyzes the historical rate dynamics of the Bitfinex funding market together with current market conditions and funding demand, then dynamically produces a rate and term recommendation for each lending decision.

The engine's specific internal mechanics are FuNi's trade secret, but we continuously publish historical backtest results, version history, and market observations on the blog so users can understand both the system's performance and its limitations.

Why Bitfinex?

The crypto world offers many "yield" options: DeFi lending (Aave, Compound), centralized exchange products (Binance Earn, OKX Earn), and stablecoin yield aggregators (Yearn, Pendle). But for lenders who want to earn interest reliably, the Bitfinex funding market has one advantage that's hard to replace: the real borrowing demand comes from margin traders.

The capital a lender lends out has a clear destination — it's borrowed by Bitfinex margin traders to open leveraged positions. When a borrower's position takes a loss, Bitfinex's liquidation system automatically force-closes it to repay, so a lender's funds essentially never default. This is fundamentally different from DeFi's "smart-contract liquidation": there's no oracle failure, no flash-loan attack, and no systemic risk of the protocol being hacked.

The Bitfinex funding market has operated for over a decade, accumulating deep liquidity and a long history of data. That's why FuNi chose to "focus on doing one platform well" rather than dabbling shallowly across multiple exchanges.

The real numbers behind development

FuNi began as an idea in 2023. The first version, APEX I (a simple threshold strategy), was built in 2024; it was upgraded to APEX II (introducing dynamic adjustment based on historical percentiles) in 2025, and to APEX III (20 market features, walk-forward backtesting) in April 2026. Every upgrade is validated against at least three years of historical data before it's released to users.

This system wasn't built overnight, nor copied from public strategies found online. It comes from one lender turning every pitfall they fell into a defensive rule, then handing the "screen-watching" over to a computer that runs 24 hours a day.

What we don't do

  • We are not an investment advisor: FuNi is only an automation tool and does not provide individual investment advice. Capital allocation, risk-taking, and tax reporting are all the user's own responsibility.
  • We are not an official Bitfinex partner: FuNi is a fully independent third-party tool that provides automation through the public Bitfinex API. We do not speak for Bitfinex, nor do we guarantee the security of the Bitfinex platform itself.
  • We do not take deposits: FuNi never handles user funds at any point. Subscription fees are paid in USDT (supported on TRC20, ERC20, BEP20, Polygon, and Solana), and lending principal always stays inside the user's own Bitfinex account.
  • We do not guarantee returns: Any claim of "X% per month," "guaranteed profit," or "guaranteed return of capital" is something we will never say. The crypto market carries risk, and past performance does not represent future results.

Technical architecture, in brief

FuNi runs a Python + FastAPI backend with PostgreSQL storing user data and backtest results. Each user's Bitfinex API key is stored encrypted, and request rate limits are calculated independently so users never interfere with one another. The notification system supports both email and a Telegram bot, pushing important events in real time.

We accept USDT across multiple networks — TRON (TRC20), Ethereum (ERC20), BSC (BEP20), Polygon, and Solana. Among them, the TRON chain has low fees (typically < 1 USDT), fast confirmation (1–3 minutes), and no KYC requirement, making it convenient for overseas Chinese-speaking users to subscribe.

What's next

For now, FuNi focuses on Bitfinex margin funding. In the future we may consider:

  • Continuing to iterate the APEX engine to sharpen its judgment under extreme market conditions
  • Expanding the web dashboard with more visualization features (capital allocation charts, annualized trend charts)
  • Multi-language interfaces (English, Japanese)

We won't expand into new features without confidence in them. We'd rather do one thing to a 90 than ship a pile of features that only reach a 60.
